TAX ACQUIRED PROPERTY
NOTICE OF TAX SALE
The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Dixfield will be accepting bids for the purchase of
the municipality’s interest in SIX (6) tax-acquired properties listed below. Each bid must be in
writing and in a sealed envelope marked “Tax-Acquired Property Bid Map __ Lot __ ” on the
outside. All bids must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023. Late bids
will not be opened or considered.
Each bid must be submitted individually; any person wishing to bid on multiple
properties must submit a separate bid in a separate envelope for each property.
All bids/proposals must be delivered to the Town Office located at 46 Main Street,
Dixfield, Maine, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023, or mailed to: Alicia Conn,
Town Manager, Town of Dixfield, P.O. Box 808, Dixfield, Maine 04224 and received prior to
the above deadline. The town will make no allowance or provision for delayed mail delivery. Late
bids/proposals will not be opened or considered.
Bids will require a minimum bid. Each bid must also include the bidder’s name,
mailing address, phone number, and clearly indicate the property map and lot.
Bids shall be publicly opened on Monday, March 27, 2023 by the Board of Selectmen at
their regular scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. The Board of Selectmen reserve the right to accept or
reject any and all bids. The successful bidder shall have 30 days from the date of the bid acceptance
in which to complete the purchase.
Any of the properties included in this bidding process will be conveyed by a quitclaim deed
without covenants that will convey the town’s interest in the property. In the event that a successful
bidder fails, for any reason, to complete the purchase in the time stated, the bid acceptance is void
and the bidder’s deposit shall be forfeited to the Town. The Board of Selectmen may thereafter
negotiate a sale of the property with any or all-unsuccessful bidders.

The tax maps and other public information concerning the properties may be reviewed at
the Town Office during its normal business hours, which are: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.
to 4:00 p.m.

advised to consult an attorney prior to filing a bid.
